Hi, I'm Donna. I am an independent professional dental hygienist who serves my clients compassionately and thoroughly. I educate my clients so that they can enjoy optimum physical health. I moved to Rocky Mountain House in 1997 and have been practicing dental hygiene here ever since. I have been married for 26 years and have two adult children. I am the proud recipient of the Chamber of Commerce Customer Service Excellence Award for 2020. My philosophy is to treat others how you would like to be treated.
I am a 1996 graduate of the
University of Alberta's Dental Hygiene Program,
Previously, I earned my Dental Assisting Certificate at NAIT in 1991.
I believe that there is no such thing as a one-size-fits-all treatment plan. I will work with you to provide a treatment plan for your specific needs.

Hi, I'm Wendy. I have been calling Rocky Mountain House my home for over 30 years. I graduated from Canadore College in Ontario in 1988. I have been providing dental hygiene services for over 34 years. Before that, in 1984, I achieved my Dental Assisting Certificate. Outside the office, I love spending time with my daughter, family, and friends. I enjoy the outdoors, skiing, camping, yoga, and cottage country in the summer. I'm looking forward to meeting you and taking care of your dental needs. I also enjoy working 2 days a /week at Rocky Dental Clinic.

What you can expect during your
Dental Hygiene Appointment
- A comprehensive review of your medical and dental history
- Teeth and Gum Evaluation
- Oral Cancer Examination
- Intra & Extra Oral Exam
- Periodontal Probing which will identify signs of gingivitis (gum) /periodontal (bone disease)
- Digital X-Rays can be taken if needed to check the bone's health and height, for calculus, and for any abnormalities in the teeth.
- Working with you, we will create a treatment plan to fit your individual needs. Treatment plan to suit your individual needs.
- Nutrition Education

Preventative Services
· Efficient preventative care is key to having a healthy smile!
· Consistent Dental Hygiene care allows our hygienists to diagnose and treat gum disease before it spreads and becomes a problem.
· Comprehensive oral hygiene instruction will help you gain the knowledge and tools you will need at home.
· Ultrasonic Scaling and hand scaling .
· Prophylaxis (or polishing) will be done if needed or requested.
· Fluoride varnish can be applied.
· Teeth Desensitization can be done to help manage your sensitivity.
· Silver Diamine Fluoride is now available! A great alternative to fillings in some cases for baby teeth, seniors, and crown margins.

DO I NEED TO SEE A DENTIST?
- We will be happy to collaborate with your dentist if we discover anything of concern during our assessment.
- If you do not have a dentist of your own, we can give you a referral. We will also forward any X-rays that were taken during your visit.
WHAT WILL IT COST?
- We follow the 2025 Alberta Dental Hygiene Fee Guide (fees are the same as the 2025 Alberta Dental Fee Guide)
- Each person will have a customized treatment plan based on their needs. Prices/treatment options will be discussed with you.
WILL YOU TAKE MY INSURANCE?
YES!
- We will send your dental claim to your insurance company for you.
- If you generally pay for a percentage, we will collect that portion from you at the time of your visit and collect the rest from your insurance company.

Silver Diamine Fluoride / Dental Sealants
- Silver Diamine Fluoride is a fast, non-invasive, painless, affordable way to stop decay and buy more time.
- It is excellent on baby teeth, crown margins, and seniors; the only drawback - it turns to decay permanently black.
- A dental sealant is a thin plastic coating that can be put in the grooves of primary and adult teeth.
- The hygienist will clean the tooth surface and paint on the sealant to the chewing surface of the teeth (usually the back teeth)
- A light is used to cure/harden the sealant; no drilling is required!
- This procedure is a quick & easy way to help prevent cavities.

If your young one is under 3, we offer a HAPPY VISIT! Included is:
- A fun ride in the chair (can even be on mom or dad's lap if that is more convenient)
- If your child is up for it, we will "tickle" those little teeth clean and look for "sugar bugs" together.
- Apply a fluoride varnish
- Go on a trip to the Treasure Box to PICK a Prize!
We will answer any questions that you may have about your child's Oral Health.
